    Protect your infant against the dangers of rear end collisions. Whiplash is a very dangerous threat for infants involved in a rear end collision. Over 3 million cars are involved in rear end collisions each year. It can happen to you. Because IntelliBrakeŽ encourages drivers following you to brake earlier and with greater confidence, a collision can be avoided altogether. Alternatively the impact may be reduced, thereby minimizing injury and damage.
    Rear end collisions cost you time and cost you money! Regardless of who is responsible, if you are involved in an accident, it will cost you both time and money. Attending to the insurance claim and repair of your vehicle is both frustrating and time consuming. You may be required to take valuable time off from work to attend to your vehicle. This can result in a loss of income or having to apply for leave. Your insurance premiums may be affected and new cars involved in a collision are also worth less. At the very least, having someone drive into the back of your vehicle is a very upsetting experience!
    Rear end collisions cause great inconvenience. If you are involved in an accident, you will have to make alternative plans for transportation while your car is being repaired. Public transportation can often be frustrating and time consuming. Renting a vehicle will cost you money.
  • Troubleshooting

    The brake light flashes five times during the learn function.The learn function has not been performed successfully. Ensure that there is a travel distance of at least 1/4" when the pedal is depressed fully. Repeat the learn function.
    The brake light is not illuminating progressively.Check to see that the sensor cable is not jamming or sticking.
    The IntelliBrakeŽ display is always on.Check to see that the green wire hasn't been connected to permanent live. It must be connected to the brake switch signal wire (+12 Volts when the brake pedal is depressed).
    The IntelliBrakeŽ doesn't illuminate at all.Check to see if the 1/8" round wire between the sensor, junction box and display unit has been connected properly. Check if any cable is damaged. Check if the ScotchLok™ connectors are crimped properly.

    How does IntelliBrakeŽ work?
    IntelliBrakeŽ consists of 2 main parts. The first is the LED brake light display (which is about 15" or 37cm wide), and is mounted in the vehicle's rear window.
    The second is an infrared optical sensor with onboard intelligent software, which is mounted to the vehicle's brake pedal. This determines how hard the brake is being pushed and transmits this signal through the wiring harness to the light unit that illuminates accordingly. The harder you brake the more the light illuminates from the center outwards, thereby indicating your braking intentions.
    Is IntelliBrakeŽ difficult to install?
    The installation manual included with each unit is easy to follow and very comprehensive.
    There are no holes to drill and fastening is done with automotive-grade, very high bond tape. Average installation time is one hour.
    What should I do about the existing third brake light?
    IntelliBrakeŽ is designed to meet the surface area and intensity requirements of the existing center high mounted stop light (CHMSL).
    Therefore you may decide whether or not you want to have IntelliBrakeŽ installed in addition to the existing CHMSL, or whether you want to remove (or alternatively simply disconnect) the existing CHMSL.
    Is IntelliBrakeŽ guaranteed?
    Yes, IntelliBrakeŽ is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 12 months from date of installation. Click here for more info
    Warranty
    IntelliBrakeŽ is warranted against defects for a period of 12 months from date of installation, provided that a proof of purchase is furnished with a warranty claim.

    Exclusions and Limitations
    This warranty does not apply to any damage whatsoever, including but not in any way limited to damage to you or your vehicle or any other vehicle or person, that may be caused by or result from : abuse, misuse, negligence, collision, or any form of accidental damage in respect of IntelliBrakeŽ; any alteration or modification to IntelliBrakeŽ or failure to follow the instructions provided in this instruction manual.

    Except for the expressed warranty set forth by IntelliBrake (Pty) Limited, its agents, distributors, and installers, makes no warranty, expressed or implied, including but not limited to, any warranty of merchantability or fitness for any purpose or otherwise of the maximum extent allowed by applicable law. The duration of any implied warranty is limited to the duration of this limited warranty. You shall only have the rights specifically set out in this limited warranty, although you may have other rights which vary from state to state. In no event will IntelliBrake (Pty) Limited, its agents, distributors, and installers be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, inconsequential, or other damages for breach of warranty, or resulting from the use of IntelliBrakeŽ.

    In no event will the liability of IntelliBrakeŽ for any damages exceed the price paid by you for the IntelliBrakeŽ and installation, regardless of the claim.

    Because some states do not allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, the above limitations and exclusions may not apply only in certain states where these limitations exist. The manufacturers of IntelliBrakeŽ believe that installing IntelliBrakeŽ in a vehicle will reduce the likelihood of vehicles being struck in the rear by another vehicle. However, none of IntelliBrake (Pty) Limited, its agents, distributors, and installers will be held liable in any way for any damage caused, whether to person or property, as a result of any collision in which you or your vehicle may be involved.
