Correct tire pressure avoids unnecessary fuel consumption, tire wear, dangerous aquaplaning and inadequate traction. The necessary checking takes time and effort. Without permanent monitoring, uncertainty when driving is an irritating feeling. Hella now offers a fully-active, radio-controlled system for permanent checking of tire pressure and temperature: The TC-400 tire pressure control system.
Unique to the TC-400 (unit measures 9.5" x 6") is the adjustable background colour of the display, which measures a mere 4" x 1.75". The look of the display can thus be matched to the vehicle-specific instrument lighting.
Brilliantly thought-out and perfectly implemented: The TC-400 in use. For installation of the control system, the sensor valves must be fitted to all four wheels. The ideal time to take the first step into controlled safety is the next time you change tires.
Hella's TC-400 Tire Pressure Monitor System allows for permanent monitoring of tire pressure and temperature in vehicles not originally equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system. Sensors on the tire valves transmit pressure and temperature via radio signal to the central unit, which in turn forwards this data to the display mounted inside the vehicle.
The system includes one LCD display, one control unit w/antenna, four tire valve sensors and installation instructions and hardware. Once installed, the system can monitor up to seven tires. Extra sensors are available.

Upon ignition, the system will immediately display a warning if an alert is present. Otherwise, the maximum time between a sensed change in temperature or pressure and notification via an alert to the display is 3 seconds. In case of alert, the system transmits every 0.9 seconds. When normal temperatures and pressures are found, the system will transmit settings every 4 seconds.
