FAQ's
How do I use HygieniQ in my car?
HygienIQ is a sprayed-on application.
Simply spray on dashboard, seats, door, ceiling, etc.
Can I spray HygienIQ on the windows or windshield?
No.
Because of its formulation, HygienIQ is not designed to be applied on glass. We will soon release a product that can be applied on side mirrors & side windows to benefit the same photocatalytic self-cleaning effect.
What if I have tinted windows, will HygienIQ still work?
Yes.
In most cases, HygienIQ will still work if you have tinted windows. In the event that you use those extremely dark limosine-grade tint films, you may want to roll down the windows to let in full-spectrum sun rays to achieve maximum photocatalysis once in a while.
Does HygienIQ come in different scent?
No.
The beauty of HygienIQ is that it does not need any scent (which is most likely allergenic & even carcinogenic) to mask the smell/odor. It is formulated to eliminate the odor (and its source) with an inert & totally-safe coating.
How do I know if its working?
You will notice that the smell inside your car is noticeably reduced.
That indicates HygienIQ is rapidly and continuously breaking down the odor and toxins.
Can HygienIQ Titanium work against stain from coffee, soda, urine, etc?
No.
But HygienIQ will reduce the smell / odor originated from such spills. HygienIQ is designed to protect the driver, other occupants and the treated surface from the gradual deposit of city pollutants (i.e. soot, NOx, diesel exhaust, etc).
What if I take my car to a detailing shop, will HygienIQ still work after scurbbing and vacuuming?
Yes.
HygienIQ is specially formulated to bind to the surface chemically so normal cleaning will not compromise HygienIQ's effect.
Will HygienIQ still work after shampooing/waxing/'armorall'-ing the treated area?
No.
HygienIQ will not work optimally if the surface is covered with another substance that blocks the light.
How about the air fresheners?
Your air freshener smell will be diminished and eventually be eliminated.
As HygienIQ works continuously to restore the cabin air quality to optimal, odor-less level.
Is HygienIQ safe?
Yes, of course.
HygienIQ is the most environmentally-friendly green nanotechnology. A catalyst does not get consumed nor altered in a chemical reaction. A catalyst merely facilitates the process without transforming itself into any thing different from its original form/state.
Can I spray HygienIQ on car body?
No.
The current formula is not engineered for car body. But such product may be available in the near future.
How soon can I drive my car after treatment?
At least one hour after treatment.
Or wait until the treated surface is dried & settled well. But generally speaking, the longer the curing period, the longer its lifespan & the better the final result.
Is one can of HygienIQ enough for one minivan?
Use the following guidance please:
A sedan requires one can of HygienIQ. Minivan or SUV needs two cans of HygienIQ for the extra space. It's always a good idea to keep a can or 2 as spare too.
I have an RV/boat and it stinks from cooking and the bathroom/septic tank. Can HygienIQ help? And how many cans do I need for my RV/boat?
Most definitely.
HygienIQ is engineered to breakdown organic odor/smell. You will need around 5 cans of HygienIQ for a typical size RV/boat.
Can I spray HygienIQ on leather/fabric/wood/dark material/shining surface?
Yes.
Please read the instructions on the label carefully before applying.
Can HygienIQ work against AC odor?
Yes to some extent.
HygienIQ can reduce the odor coming out from your AC vents but you should treat the source of the problem. Use a specific AC deodorizer cleaner or consult your local car mechanic if the problem is very serious. Sigma Auto markets a very effective AC Duct Odor Purifier.
How do I remove HygienIQ that I previously applied?
You cannot.
HygienIQ creates strong chemical bonding to the treated surface. The only known method of removing HygienIQ is by abrasion and/or strong chemical cleanser. HygienIQ is an odorless, invisible, hypoallergenic, totally safe & inert agent, why do you need/want to remove it any way?
What do you mean by HygienIQ will last up to one year?
HygienIQ is based on the latest nano-science called Photocatalysis.
It's durable and long-lasting. It continuously breaks down air pollutants/allergens/antigens that adhere to its treated surface for one year. But constant rubbing with human contacts may diminish the coating & compromise its effect over time. So it's best to re-apply once a year for maximum protection.
What happens when theres no light?
HygienIQ will still work briefly when it becomes dark.
It will reactivate its disinfecting/cleansing power when light is present again. And we are not just talking about full-spectrum sunlight, even artificial ambient light will trigger its power although at a lesser potency as expected.
What is the size of HygienIQ?
150ml or 5.3 oz.
We also offer bulk quantity discount for wholesalers.
What if I use more than 1 can of HygienIQ in a car?
Not a problem.
The amount of HygienIQ used per vehicle's interior surface area is scientifically calculated although such number varies between different vehicles. Excess amount of HygienIQ will provide extra protection in most cases. If visible residue can be seen, then you should cut back on the usage.
How about mold or fungus smell, will HygienIQ work against it?
Yes.
HygienIQ eliminates smell (any) from the source up as long as there is contact between the source & the coating, and as long as there is light.
Do I have to clean the car interior before I apply HygienIQ?
That'll be best.
It is highly recommended to apply HygienIQ on a clean surface. HygienIQ is a revolutionary nanotechnology that works at microscopic level. Particulate waste will hinder its bondage to the surface.
How long does it take to apply?
Typically 10-15 min per vehicle.
It's really a no-brainer to apply.
What is HygienIQ?

It removes toxic gases (VOCs), organic smells and foul smell through photocatalysis
Its effect is continuous & theoretically infinite as long as there is light
An one-time treatment typically lasts around 1 year in real life situation
How does HygienIQ Works?

A thin layer of photocatalysts (mainly TiO2) is coated on all the surfaces in the car cabin
In the presence of light, the photocatalysts form extremely strong oxidixing agents called Active Oxygen
Active Oxygen breaks down organic pollutants to carbon dioxide and water vapour through a process called oxidation
VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), cigarette smoke, pet odor, and common odors caused by bacteria, mold and fungus are broken down by HygienIQ.
Tell me more about the oxidizing effect in details please.

When the HygienIQ treated surface is exposed to radiant energy (UV and/or visible light), electricity is generated. Its TiO2 coating is now in a 'hyper' state and a proton (h+) is generated while an electron (e-) is intensified.
The electron, in the presence of oxygen in the air, is transformed into superoxide anion. The proton h+, on the other hand, is transformed into hydroxyl radical by moisture in the air. Collectively, these are known as active oxygen.
Organic substances like germs and microbes have molecule structures that are held together by carbon-oxygen or carbon-hydrogen bonds.
When these organic substances get in contact with the active oxygen, these bonds are broken. And the residue is harmless carbon dioxide (CO2) and water vapour (H2O).
Active oxygen is always present on the HygienIQ treated surface in the presence of light. Being a much stronger oxidising agent than sodium hypochoride (ie: bleach) or ozone (O3), all organic matters will be oxidized rapidly, resulting in the formation of CO2 and H2O.
As such, the active oxygen will not be freely suspended in the air. Thus the superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical will not be inhaled by humans. Neither will they accumulate in an enclosed area.
Reasons to treat your car with HygienIQ:

Independent studies have shown that the air we breathe in while travelling inside an automobile can be extremely hazardous to our health
In-car pollution is mainly due to the VOCs emitted from the exhaust as well as the materials being used to fabricate our car interior
In-car pollution level can be up to 18 times higher than outside ambient level regareless if the windows are up or down, vents are opened or closed
In-car pollution is a serious health threat to all occupants
HygienIQ treatment protects you and your loved ones from toxic gases, bacteria, viruses, offensive odours and other organic pollutants
Does HygienIQ increase the beneficial negative ions inside my car?
No but it restores the ionic balance.
Both our car interior surface & in-car pollutants are positively-charged. Positive ions induce stress upon occupants. HygienIQ treated surface generates constant streams of electrons that neutralize positively-charged pollutants. As a result, occupants feel more pleasant & relaxed. You may also use one of our automotive negative ionizers to drastically increase airborne negative ion quantity.
Why should I use HygienIQ treatment in my home?
We now have home-use formula HygienIQ too.
House pollutants differ from road pollutants but they're equally detrimental to health. Contributors to house pollutants include but are not limited to: bacteria, pollens, dust mites, pets' waste, pets' dander, tobacco smoke, hair sprays, shower gel, insecticides, cleaning agents, poorly-maintained HVAC units, chemical fumes from carpet, furniture, adhesive, etc. HygienIQ reduces, if not eliminates, negative effects from many of such pollutants. Your indoor air quality can be improved as a result.
How long does HygienIQ effect last in a home or office?
The effect will last as long as the coating is intact.
While the auto treatment lasts around 1 year as previously stated, home & office treatment can last up to 1-3 years easily cos' there is less disturbance of the coating in these environments when compared to a car.
