Drastic improvement of ignition system and higher performance

While countless high performance car parts such as computer, muffler and turbo are available in the market, there were no drastic improvements for ignition system. It was always limited to tuning the mechanical ignition system which distributes electricity from the coil to each spark plug through spark plug wires.

Then Super Direct Ignition System (Di) was designed. This system allows the ECU to send the electrical signal directly to each coil that is placed on top of each cylinder for more efficient ignition.

The best ignition timing is obtained by the sensor and is controlled by the ECU and the fuel injection system. It makes an ideal condition for ignition and enables a constant and stable electric power at all RPM.

Thanks to the advent of an original ignition system, ignition system made tremendous progress. However, such original system left a weak point; that was a reduction of secondary voltage at high RPM. Because of the restriction in design, genuine coil packs were not able to produce enough energy.

Comparison of the ignition system

Conventional ignition system distributes electricity from an ignition coil to each spark plug through spark plug wires. On the other hand, Super Direct Ignition System (Di) has individual coil packs on each respective spark plug. So an increased voltage is provided to each spark plug directly from respective coil pack. The main difference between plug wires and Super Direct Ignition System is the distance between coil pack and spark plug.

In case of conventional Plug Wire System, the voltage is increased by one coil pack and then being sent to respective spark plug through distributor and individual plug wires, therefore, the voltage is decreased at each phase before the electricity finally reaches to spark plug. But, in case of Super Direct Ignition System, each coil directly sends an increased voltage to spark plug with near-zero loss of electricity. Moreover, the best ignition timing is gained by the computer and is controlled by the ECU along with fuel injection system. The strong point of Super Direct Ignition System is to provide an accurate ignition and to maintain stable secondary voltage at high RPM.

Compared with the standard coil, SplitFire Super Direct Ignition System has an increased wire turn of coil, and high quality materials are used for the parts to provide high performance.

The difference of spark between Direct Ignition System and Standard system is very clear as you can see the picture on the right here. This difference brings great advantage for sports driving. It helps complete combustion to improve combustion efficiency, and also increases power and torque. SplitFire Super Direct Ignition Systems are specifically designed for limited engine models, and they are all bolt-on type for easy installation.

The special circuit adopted for this unit helps to start engine at lower voltage. It provides the excellent starting performance at even lower voltage. It also eliminates noise and RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) for audio equipment because plug wires are eliminated. This is the most drastic improvement for ignition system that money can buy. Excellent power and response that you can feel.
